Nevada and Connecticut Health Data Supplement

Effective date: October 2026

This supplement gives Nevada and Connecticut consumers additional health-data disclosures and rights. The categories, sources, purposes, and recipients described in our Consumer Health Data Privacy Policy also describe the health-related information we handle for you. The rights and timing below apply in addition to the other protections of your state's law.

For Nevada consumers, in brief:

How We Process Health Data

With your agreement, we store the preferences you choose (allergies, diet, dietary restrictions, and dislikes) on your device and with Supabase, our storage provider, and the app compares menu results with them on your device. We store the menu photos you submit and your saved menus with Supabase, and we use OpenAI to read your menu photos and the dish text from them and to write explanations of dishes and ingredients. We also handle the account, notification, purchase, scan-failure, crash and error, and support information described in the health policy. This includes collecting, using, storing, analyzing, and transmitting data. Your saved allergies, diet, and other preferences are never included in the requests we send to OpenAI.

For Nevada consumer health data, collection and sharing require your consent unless they are limited to what is necessary to provide a product or service you request. When consent to sharing is required, it is separate from consent to collection. For Connecticut sensitive data, including health information and religious beliefs, the app asks for your agreement before it saves your preferences, and you can withdraw it at any time.

We do not sell consumer health data. MenuVision has no advertising, and we do not allow third parties to collect health data through MenuVision to track you across other websites or online services over time. The released app does not use usage analytics, and we do not deliberately attach your MenuVision account ID to crash and error reports; our own service keeps scan-failure records and technical logs linked to your account or scan, so that we can operate the service and fix problems. Supabase, OpenAI, Sentry, and Google (for our Google Workspace support mailbox and Workspace file sharing) process information for us only under written terms that limit them to providing their services to us. Expo, which routes our notifications and delivers app updates, handles the information it receives under its own service terms and privacy policy, not under a data processing agreement with us. Apple, and Google for Google sign-in and the legacy consumer-mail service, also have their own obligations for the services they provide in their own roles. MenuVision has no affiliates.

Nevada Rights and Requests

You may ask us to confirm whether we collect, share, or sell your consumer health data; give you a list of the third parties with which we have shared or sold it; stop collecting, sharing, or selling it; or delete it. You can review and change your saved preferences in Settings > Your Preferences, and withdraw and delete them there or in Settings > Privacy > Personalized warnings and preferences. Contact us to review or correct other health information.

Email support@menuvisionapp.com, or use Settings > Privacy > Privacy request in the app, to make a request. We may need to confirm that the request is yours, for example by sending a one-time code to your account's email address, but you do not have to create a new account. We respond without undue delay and within 45 days after we verify that the request is yours. When reasonably necessary, we may extend that period once by 45 days, and if we do, we tell you why during the first 45 days.

Deletion has a shorter deadline: within 30 days after we verify that the request is yours, we delete the covered information from our records and network and notify the processors and other third parties that received it. They must delete it within 30 days after our notice. Nevada allows deletion from archived or backup systems to wait, when that is necessary for restoring them, for no longer than two years after we verify that the request is yours; our database backups are kept for 7 days. Any shorter deadline that also applies to your data still applies.

We answer requests free of charge at least twice a year, and also answer further requests free of charge unless they are manifestly unfounded, excessive, or repetitive. If we decline to act, you can appeal by replying to our decision or by emailing the same address. We give you a written decision and our reasons within 45 days of receiving your appeal. If we deny the appeal, we include contact information for the Nevada Attorney General.

Connecticut Rights and Requests

You may ask to confirm whether we process your personal data and to access it, including applicable inferences; to correct inaccuracies; to delete your personal data; and to receive a portable copy as the law provides. You may also opt out of the sale of personal data, targeted advertising, and profiling used for decisions with legal or similarly significant effects. MenuVision does none of these with your data. You may also request the list of third parties to which we have sold personal data, as the law provides. We do not sell personal data.

Email support@menuvisionapp.com, or use Settings > Privacy > Privacy request in the app, to make a request. We respond without undue delay and within 45 days of receiving it. When reasonably necessary, we may take one extension of up to 45 days, and if we do, we tell you why during the first 45 days. We answer requests free of charge once in any 12-month period, subject to Connecticut's limited rules for excessive or unfounded requests.

You may revoke the consent you gave for processing your preferences. Revoking is at least as easy as giving consent: tap Withdraw and delete my preferences in Settings > Privacy > Personalized warnings and preferences, or in Settings > Your Preferences. The app stops using your preferences on that device at once, deletes them from your account and that device, and records the withdrawal. If the deletion cannot finish, for example without a connection, the app says so, keeps personalized warnings off, and tries again. Your other devices stop using your preferences after their next successful check with our service, which happens when the app is opened or brought back on screen. You can also revoke by email, and we stop that processing as soon as practicable and no later than 15 days after receiving your request. Contact us about any processing the app's controls do not cover.

To appeal a refusal, reply to our decision or email the same address with your request and the reason for your appeal. We give you a written decision and our reasons within 60 days of receiving your appeal. If we deny the appeal, we tell you how to contact the Connecticut Attorney General.

Changes and Contact

When this supplement changes, we post the new version with its effective date. We tell you about material changes in the app or by email to your account's address. Where the law requires new consent before we collect an additional category of data, use it for an additional purpose, or share it with an additional category of recipient, we explain the change and ask for that consent before the new processing begins.

We do not discriminate against you for using your privacy rights. A feature that needs information you choose not to provide may not work: for example, personalized warnings need the relevant preferences.
